Last week, we informed you Galaxy AI should reach select models in the Galaxy A series in August or September. We knew the Galaxy flagship phone's exclusivity over AI would soon end, and today, Samsung finally spilled the beans. It has revealed plans for bringing its advanced AI tools to budget/mid-range phones and tablets.Summarize in one-click with Galaxy AI

The popular Circle to Search feature is the first to land on Galaxy A phones and Fan Edition tablets. Samsung announced today that it is coming to the Galaxy A54, A34, A55, and A35 this month. Surprisingly, even select 2023 Galaxy A phones are getting this feature.

The company also confirmed Circle to Search for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ tablets. However, it stopped short of revealing when the tablets will get the feature.

A new way to search on your phone and tablet

Circle to Search is based on existing Google technologies, i.e., Google Lens. But Samsung integrated it into One UI more intuitively with the Galaxy S24 series in early 2024. Lens has been around for years, but it feels like the partnership between Samsung and Google marked the tipping point where the tool became more popular.

Once Circle to Search lands on the Galaxy A series and Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets, users will be able to summon this tool on any screen by long-pressing the home navigation button or gesture handle, then tap on or circle around on-screen objects using their fingertips or S Pens to do contextual online searches.

You can find a demonstration of Circle to Search in the video below.

TM Roh, President of Mobile eXperience, said, “We are dedicated to bringing best-in-class AI technology to a broader audience, empowering users with the option to work more efficiently, create more freely, and enjoy richer, more personalized interactions with their devices.”

Are mid-range Samsung devices getting AI features other than Circle to Search?

Samsung hasn't said anything about more Galaxy AI features coming to Galaxy A phones and Fan Edition tablets, so we're unsure if Circle to Search is the first and only one.

Circle to Search is one of Galaxy AI's most strongly advertised components. But we probably wouldn't call it our favorite. It's not even a Galaxy AI feature considering Google developed it and offers it on Pixel smartphones, and it will be interesting to see if Samsung will make any other AI features available on non-flagship phones and tablets.
