You can try the Galaxy Z Fold experience using two regular phones

Samsung updated its Try Galaxy app with new features demonstrating the latest products unveiled at Unpacked in Paris, including the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra, the Galaxy Buds 3, and the Galaxy Ring. However, perhaps the cleverest addition to Try Galaxy is the new Fold experience, which uses two phones.

If you have two phones or a friend who can borrow theirs, you can run the Try Galaxy app on both, select the “Fold Experience” option, choose which phone is to the left and which one you'll place to the right, and then link them up using a random code.

Once the setup is complete, you can place the two phones side-by-side to simulate the Galaxy Z Fold 6 large-screen experience. The two phones are in sync (almost perfectly), and whatever you see on one screen extends to the other. Here are a few examples:

Needless to say, you'll get a better experience if the two phones you use are sized the same. Even then, you won't get exactly the same aspect ratio as you would on a real Fold, but it's close enough for a demonstration.

We captured the screenshots above using a Galaxy S22+ and a Galaxy S24+.

Only a small taste of the Galaxy Z Fold experience

The Fold experience is limited to simulating three scenarios, namely Circle to Search, multitasking, and watching videos on the foldable screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers a lot more than that and many other Galaxy AI features.

Nevertheless, this is a clever idea that anyone with access to two Android phones or even iPhones can try out, and it costs nothing. You can install Try Galaxy from the official website with the same name (just hit the link) on phones running Samsung Internet or Google Chrome.

If you want to use the real thing, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is now available for $1,899 and up. In some markets, you can get trade-in discounts of up to $1,200 and other offers or bonuses.

The new Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 7.6-inch foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. The cover screen has a 6.3-inch size and similar brightness and refresh rate specifications. It's the slickest and toughest Fold to date.
