Earlier this week, the Galaxy S21 FE started getting the Circle to Search feature with the August 2024 update. However, the update was limited to Asian countries. Now, the new update has reached more markets, including Canada, Europe, and the USA.
Galaxy S21 FE gets Circle to Search with August 2024 update in Europe, USA
The new update for the Galaxy S21 FE brings the Circle to Search feature alongside the August 2024 security patch. The update is now available in Canada with firmware version G990WVLUCGXG8. In European countries, the update comes bearing firmware versions G990BXXU9GXH2 or G990B2XXU8GXH2, depending on the variant of the phone (SM-G990B or SM-G990B2).
The update is rolling out in the US, too, for both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S21 FE. The carrier-locked version of the phone has received the new update with firmware version G990USQUCGXG8 on AT&T, Comcast, Dish, Metro PCS, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile networks. The factory-unlocked version of the device is getting updated with firmware version G990U1UEUCGXG7 on all carrier networks.
The new update fixes nearly 50 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. If you have the Galaxy S21 FE and live in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can check the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

The Galaxy S21 FE was launched in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. It received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. It will get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update later this year. Next year, the phone will likely get its last major Android OS update, Android 16.
