After launching the Galaxy A06 in Vietnam last month, Samsung has launched it in Brazil and India. The new entry-level smartphone brings the ‘Key Island' design from Samsung's recently launched mid-range smartphones. Other than that, the Galaxy A06 doesn't bring many improvements over its predecessor.
Galaxy A06 has a fingerprint reader and a dedicated microSD card slot
The Galaxy A06 has largely the same design as the Galaxy A05 except for the ‘Key Island' design, which is a raised bar on the right side of the phone where power and volume buttons are located. It also gets a capacitive side-mounted fingerprint reader embedded into the power button. It features Face Unlock and Samsung Knox for security.
The phone still features the same 6.7-inch PLS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and Infinity U used in the Galaxy A05. It has a plastic body and a plastic frame. It comes in Black, Gold, and Light Blue colors.
On the front, the phone has an 8MP front-facing camera. On the rear, it has a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an LED flash. The phone can record 1080p 60fps videos.
The device uses the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, and a dedicated microSD card slot (for storage space expansion). The Galaxy A06 runs Android 14 (One UI 6.1) out of the box. It will get two major Android OS updates and security patches for two additional years.
The Galaxy A06 has GPS, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB 2.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
Galaxy A06 pricing in Brazil and India
The Galaxy A06 is priced at R$899 for the 128GB version. In India, the phone costs INR 9,999 ($120) for the 64GB version and INR 11,499 ($137) for the 128GB version. The phone can be purchased from Samsung's official website in both countries.
