Samsung is constantly expanding its art portfolio for the Art Store, available on The Frame TV. The company often adds new artworks, contemporary and classic, to its expansive gallery, and it was only a few days ago when Samsung introduced Carl Larsson's collection to the platform.
But today, Samsung revealed something unusual for The Frame TV involving the mischievous cat Bad Meaw.
The Bad Meaw character, designed by Thai artist Mueanfun Sappanek, is joining the Art Store gallery on The Frame TV, but not in the usual manner other artworks have done in the past.
Bad Meaw is taking over famous paintings and photos
According to Samsung's recent announcement, Bad Meaw is joining the Art Store by reinterpreting contemporary and classic photos and paintings. As Samsung puts it, the cute character will appear “live on word-class artwork.”
Samsung doesn't go into much detail as to how this mashup will work on The Frame. But driving the point home, the company shared the image you see atop this article, featuring Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night on The Frame, partially covered by someone holding a figure of Bad Meaw in front of the TV.
With that in mind, it appears that Bad Meaw will take over famous paintings at the Art Store — or at the very least, it will reinterpret some artworks in a playful manner without replacing the originals.
The Frame, or more accurately, the Art Store platform, is home to more than 2,500 artworks from galleries and museums worldwide. Whether or not Bad Meaw can appear on any of these +2,500 pieces is unclear, but in theory, the cartoonish cat character has an expansive playground.
If you're considering buying The Frame TV, the 2024 model is now up to $700 off in select markets, including the USA. And if you buy one, you can also save $50 on the Music Frame speaker.
