Samsung has announced it will launch the Galaxy Ring in Australia next month. Since the Galaxy Ring is a completely new product category, its launch has been slower than Samsung's usual release cycle. If you live in Australia and are interested in the Galaxy Ring, you can buy it next month.

The Galaxy Ring is already available in Europe, South Korea, and the USA.

Galaxy Ring to launch in Australia in October

The Galaxy Ring, which was launched alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July, will be available for purchase in Australia in mid-October 2024. It will be available through Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores. Australia is the first countrin Southeast Asia and Oceania to get the Galaxy Ring.

Samsung's new wearable will be available in nine sizes (5 to 13) and three color options: Titanium Black, Titanium Gold, and Titanium Silver. However, the company didn't reveal the pricing of the Galaxy Ring for the Australian market.

When customers buy the Galaxy Ring, Samsung will send them a sizing kit containing Galaxy Ring replicas of various sizes. Buyers are advised to wear the replica for 24 hours (as finger size can vary slightly from day to night) to get a good idea of which size is right for them.

Watch the Galaxy Ring in action in our hands-on video below.

Galaxy Ring features

The Galaxy Ring has an accelerometer, a gyro, and Samsung's BioActive Sensor. It can measure your heart rate, body composition analysis, steps (and other workouts), and sleep. It works with any recent Android smartphone (but works best with a Galaxy smartphone). You can change its settings using the Galaxy Wearable app.

All your health and fitness data is relayed to the Samsung Health app, which shows advanced health recommendations and tips after a few days of usage. It also displays your Energy Score each day, explaining how much workout you can do that day. The Galaxy Ring's exterior is made of titanium, and it is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance (up to 100 meters).

The Galaxy Ring comes with a charging case, which lasts 5-7 days on a single charge, depending on the size of the ring. The case holds 1.5 charges, and it can be charged using a USB Type-C port or via Qi wireless charging. In fact, the Galaxy Ring's charging case is Samsung's first device with Qi2 certification.

Since the Galaxy Ring lacks GPS, its outdoor workout (cycling, running, swimming, or walking) tracking won't be accurate unless you take your paired smartphone with you.
