In less than four months, Samsung is expected to unveil its next-generation Galaxy S series smartphones. The Galaxy S25 series is expected to bring camera, design, and performance improvements, and several of their features have leaked already. Now, the Galaxy S25+ battery capacity has also been leaked, and you may be disappointed with this leak.
Galaxy S25+ battery capacity isn't increasing over its predecessor
According to a report from GalaxyClub, the Galaxy S25+ battery will have a rated capacity of 4,755mAh, which is exactly similar to that of the Galaxy S24+. So, it is likely that Samsung will advertise it as a 4,900mAh battery, similar to what it did with the Galaxy S24+. So, there won't be any upgrade in the battery capacity of the Galaxy S25+.
That's not to say that it is a small battery. A 4,900mAh is still an excellent capacity for a thin and light device like the Galaxy S25+. And reviews have shown that the Galaxy S24+, featuring a 4nm chip, can last an entire day even with heavy usage. So, with its more power-efficient 3nm chip (Exynos 2500 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 4), the Galaxy S25+ could last even longer.
Even the Galaxy S25 Ultra reportedly won't come with a bigger battery, and it will continue to use a 5,000mAh battery, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. So, it appears that Samsung is trying to improve battery life with power efficiency improvements rather than increasing the battery capacity.

Chinese brands are bringing bigger batteries to their high-end phones. For example, the Honor Magic 6 has a 5,450mAh battery, while the Xiaomi K70 Ultra has a 5,500mAh battery. The OnePlus 12 has a 5,400mAh battery, and the Realme GT6 has a 5,800mAh battery. Some brands are even testing batteries with capacities as high as 6,000mAh and 7,000mAh.
While Samsung's phones might look weak in the battery department on paper, its high-end phones usually last longer than most phones from Chinese brands, probably due to better software optimization.
