Last month, a beta version of WhatsApp for Android brought an option for applying themes to chats as well as changing the color of message bubbles, allowing people to customize the look of chats according to their taste. However, it didn’t have any themes. Well, that’s changing today.
According to a new report from WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.20.12) offers a bunch of themes that you can apply to chats. Each theme has a set of colors for message bubbles as well as a wallpaper. However, if you want, you can choose a color for message bubbles and wallpaper separately, allowing you to create a custom theme. You can check out the new feature in the image below.
Note that the theme, message color, and wallpaper you choose will be applicable to all chats. However, the publication notes that you might be able to customize those aspects for each chat in the future. The new feature will make using WhatsApp more fun, which, at the moment, feels a little bland. At the moment, there’s no information about when Meta will release it to the public. Going by the feature rollout history, it should arrive soon.
