Another day, another bit of information about the upcoming Galaxy S25 series has emerged. This time, it has everything to do with how Samsung refers to its next premium flagship phone internally. Enter Paradigm.
According to our colleagues at GalaxyClub, Samsung refers to the Galaxy S25 lineup by the codename ‘Paradigm.‘ As a reminder, the Galaxy S23 was known as ‘Diamond,' whereas the Galaxy S24 was referred to by the ‘Eureka' codename.
What could all this mean regarding the Galaxy S25 series?
This ‘Paradigm' codename might hint at how Samsung views its upcoming Galaxy S25 series.
Although we're not sure what the Galaxy S23 codename ‘Diamond' meant for Samsung, it makes sense that the company referred to the Galaxy S24 as ‘Eureka' internally. Samsung believes creating Galaxy AI was its Eureka moment, and the Galaxy S24 was the first to boast these new Galaxy AI features.
But what about ‘Paradigm?' The word paradigm means model, archetype, ideal, example, or a new standard. So, we could say that after Samsung had its Eureka moment in 2024, the company set a new standard in the mobile industry, and the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will be that new archetype's pure embodiment. An even better Galaxy AI phone and the model to follow.
On the other hand, early leaks show that even though the base and Plus Galaxy S25 models might not look all that different from their predecessors, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will adopt a new design language with rounder corners and a flat frame. Perhaps Samsung considers these design changes a paradigm shift, hence the codename.
