Samsung has released an update to the Galaxy A53 5G. It brings the September 2024 security patch to the smartphone, which fixes 67 security vulnerabilities, improving and the security of the device.
The company is rolling out the new update to the factory-unlocked and the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy A53 5G for the United States, which have model numbers SM-A536U1 and SM-A536U respectively. The firmware version of the update for the former is A536U1UESAEXH3 and that for the latter is A536USQSBEXH5.
As usual, your Galaxy A53 5G should automatically notify you about the update. However, if it hasn’t, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download it from our database and install it manually using Odin. However, we suggest you to stick with the OTA method.

Samsung is rolling out Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1. Sadly, the Galaxy A53 5G is not eligible to get it. It is, however, eligible to get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 that the brand is developing.
