Last year, Google released Gemini Nano, a lighter version of Google Gemini that Android devices can run locally, which allows them to run some AI-powered features without the internet. Initially, the company made it available for the Pixel 8 Pro. Then the brand expanded it to Galaxy S24 series phones. In August this year, Google launched the Pixel 9 series and they have Gemini Nano with multimodality, which is even more capable at processing AI tasks.

However, there was no clear information about which smartphones have Gemini Nano, which ones feature Gemini Nano with multimodality, and which ones don’t have Gemini Nano at all. Well, that’s changing today, thanks to Android Police. In a new report, the publication has revealed a list of devices that support Gemini Nano and a list of devices that feature Gemini Nano with multimodality (these lists are confirmed by Google). You can check them out below.

Devices that support Gemini Nano

  • Google Pixel 8
  • Google Pixel 8 Pro
  • Google Pixel 8a
  • Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 FE
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Realme GT 6
  • Xiaomi 14T
  • Xiaomi 14T Pro
  • Xiaomi MIX Flip

Devices that support Gemini Nano with multimodality

  • Google Pixel 9
  • Google Pixel 9 Pro
  • Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
  • Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

As you can see, a total of six Samsung smartphones support Gemini Nano: Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. It is interesting to see that this year’s Fan Edition device also has it. That means the Exynos 2400e is capable of running Gemini Nano.

The story continues after the video…

Unfortunately, Gemini Nano with multimodality isn’t available for any Samsung smartphone yet, and there’s no information if any of them have the capability to run it or if Google will extend it to devices from the South Korean tech giant. We hope that Google makes Gemini Nano with multimodality available to Samsung devices, helping them offer even more AI features without the need of the internet, and offer Gemini Nano to older and more affordable Galaxy phones.
