Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A16 in France alongside the Galaxy A16 5G. Samsung says the phones “stand the test of time,” as both phones will get six major Android OS updates. Both phones come pre-installed with Android 14 (One UI 6.1) and will get updated to Android 20 sometime in 2029.
The Galaxy A16 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. It comes equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
It has a 13MP selfie camera on the front. On the rear, the phone has a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It can record Full HD (1080p) videos from front and rear cameras. It has a fingerprint reader, GPS, a dual-SIM card slot, 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone port.
Samsung will sell the Galaxy A16 in three colors: Gray, Midnight Blue, and Water Green. The company didn't reveal the price of the phone yet, and we expect that information to be revealed in the next few days.
