A few days ago, the Galaxy S21 FE started getting the October 2024 security update. However, the update's reach was limited to the USA. Now, the update has reached several other countries, mostly in Europe.
Galaxy S21 FE gets October 2024 security update in Europe
Samsung is releasing a new update to the Galaxy S21 FE in European countries. The update comes with firmware versions G990BXXSAGXJ1 (SM-G990B) and G990B2XXS9GXJ1 (SM-G990B2), depending on the model number. It brings the October 2024 security patch that fixes 42 security vulnerabilities found in the previous firmware version.
The update is available in Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Caucasus region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK, Ukraine, and some other European countries.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware from our. firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 pre-installed. The phone received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. Its last major software update, Android 16, will arrive in late 2025.
