Samsung has been testing the One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6 for a long time. Beta testing began all the way back in June, and after eight beta builds, the Galaxy Watch 6 is almost at the finish line.
The Beta Operation Manager on the Korean Community Forum confirmed that the final version of One UI 6 Watch beta has been released for the Galaxy Watch 6 (via X).
This means the beta testing period is almost over. The Galaxy Watch 6 won't get any more One UI 6 Watch beta builds unless there's something terribly wrong with the latest build.
That's highly unlikely, given that Samsung spent the last few months polishing no fewer than eight beta builds and bringing the firmware closer to a public release.
A better user experience coming soon to every Watch 6
One UI 6 Watch is based on Wear OS 5 and debuted with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. It brings new features including but not limited to:
- A redesigned Quick Panel
- Redesigned notification cards
- A new font
- Better Samsung Health features with the AI-powered Energy Score
- Double Pinch action
- Touch-sensitive Always On Display
Generally speaking, when Samsung announces that the last beta build for an update has been released, it means the beta testing period is about to end and people will soon no longer be able to download beta firmware on their devices.
The good news is that it also means the public release should be just around the corner. And in this case, One UI 6 Watch should roll out to the Galaxy Watch 6, and eventually Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5, soon enough. We'll keep you posted when the public roll-out begins.
