Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, keeps borrowing features from one app for another. In a new move, it has done the same by borrowing WhatsApp's live location-sharing feature for Instagram.
Instagram now has Live Location Sharing feature
Earlier today, Instagram announced that it is adding some new features to Instagram. The app is getting 17 new sticker packs (300 new stickers) so that you get more ways to express your emotions to your family and friends.
Plus, if you like a sticker sent by others, you can favorite it so that you can find that sticker pack and download it. You can also favorite the stickers you created by yourself using the Cutouts feature.
You can also set nicknames for yourself and your friends. Since nicknames only appear in your direct messages (DMs), they won't reflect on Instagram profiles.
In your direct messages, you can share your live location for up to one hour. Live location sharing is only available in 1:1 messages or group chats. Location sharing is off by default and only works for up to an hour when you activate it. This feature is currently available only in a few countries.
