The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which few people own because of its limited release, is now getting its first firmware update. We know this because we managed to get not one but two Z Fold Special Edition phones in the office. Here's what we can tell you about this new update.
It's not One UI 7.0. It's still One UI 6.1.1, but the update includes the November 2024 security patch. The firmware version is F958NKSU2AXK4, and the package weighs a little over 500MB.
The changelog is fairly generic. It's the usual deal for new security patches. Samsung doesn't really detail what's new but says a software update “can include” stability improvements and bug fixes, improvements to performance, and new or enhanced features.
If you're one of the few people who own the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition outside of Korea or one of the lucky customers who got the SE foldable in Korea while stocks kept running out, you probably know the drill. You should be able to download the first firmware update to your Fold Special Edition via the Settings app, by navigating to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”
If you prefer manual updates, you'll also be able to download the firmware from our database once it finishes uploading.
