A few weeks ago, we had a brief talk about the fact that firmware support for Galaxy Watches looked abysmal. Back then, even the Galaxy Watch 7 series ran on a relatively outdated June 2024 security patch. Thankfully, Samsung's fixing this.

For the past few days, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra have been getting the November 2024 security patch in more countries. The update first started rolling out in South Korea, but availability is expanding by the day.

Although it's hard to tell where exactly the November 2024 security update is and isn't available right now, you can check for the update by opening the Settings app on the smartwatch, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”

In the meantime, if you own a wearable from the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, or Watch 6 series, you're in for a bigger treat, as Samsung is expanding the availability of the stable One UI 6 Watch update.
