While One UI 7.0 brought several new features, very few are related to Galaxy AI. Samsung is planning to introduce more Galaxy AI features with the One UI 7.1 update, and one of those could be the Audio Eraser feature that helps remove unwanted sounds in videos using AI.
Galaxy AI Audio Eraser can remove distracting sounds
Tipster Ice Universe posted on Chinese microblogging website Weibo that Samsung is developing a new feature called Audio Eraser. The feature is reportedly powered by Galaxy AI, so it could be limited to high-end Galaxy phones and tablets.
As the screenshot below shows, it can “eliminate distracting noise in videos by adjusting the volume of voices, wind, and other sounds.”
From what we can understand through the graphics used in the screenshot, Galaxy AI can identify several sounds and voices in a video. It will then allow you to increase or decrease the volume of those sounds individually.
For example, if a video has sounds of humans, pets, traffic, and wind, you could reduce the volume of the traffic and the wind to make the rest of the sounds clearer.
It isn't clear which phones will get this new feature. Since Audio Eraser isn't available in the first beta version of One UI 7.0, Samsung is likely reserving the feature for One UI 7.1.
It is also possible that the upcoming feature will be exclusively available on the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to launch next month.
We will get more information about the Audio Eraser feature closer to the launch of the Galaxy S25.
