Since the Galaxy S24 has received a couple of One UI 7.0 beta updates, people started expecting that Samsung will open the One UI 7.0 beta program for older Galaxy phones. However, a report earlier today claimed that older Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S23, won't get the beta update.

It also revealed when we should expect the stable update to be released to most Galaxy phones.

Release schedule for stable One UI 7.0 update

According to X user @FamilyTaes, Samsung will not open the One UI 7.0 beta program for any other Galaxy A or Galaxy S series phone. However, they claimed that Samsung will quickly roll out the stable One UI 7.0 beta update. They expect all Galaxy S series phones to get a stable update in February 2025.

During the SDC 2024 event in October, Samsung announced that it would start rolling out the stable One UI 7.0 update in the first quarter of 2025. It seems that Samsung will keep its promise. However, don't expect all phones in all regions to get the update simultaneously.

Samsung has been quite late this year with the release of the new One UI update. Over the past 2-3 years, Samsung released the stable One UI update before the end of the year. This year, though, the South Korean firm delayed the release of the One UI beta update by three months.

The company reportedly wanted a major update with an improved user experience, and it did just that. One UI 7.0 introduces a significant UI design overhaul, featuring a new Quick Panel design with deep customization options, a separate page for notifications, and fluid animations and transitions.

Samsung also introduced new app icons with gradient backgrounds, better one-handed usability, a new camera app, and much more. You can watch all the new features in our video above.

Editor's note: The original article incorrectly claimed that some Galaxy A series phones could get the update in February in addition to Galaxy S-series devices and has been updated to address that.
