Along with introducing new and upgraded TV models at CES this week, Samsung also unwrapped its latest soundbars, completing its 2025 audiovisual lineup.
Upgraded soundbar models for 2025 include the HW-Q990F, HW-B750F, and HW-B650F. Surprisingly, the company also announced a brand-new soundbar called the HW-QS700F. It hides a new component smartphone users are very aquatinted with.
This new addition to the audio lineup has an all-new design. Like other Samsung soundbars, the QS700F can be placed on a TV stand or mounted on a wall.
However, unlike other Samsung soundbars, the QS700F's wall-mounting plates are on the underside rather than the backside.
This design comes with obvious challenges. The QS700F soundbar's internal speakers fire in different directions depending on how it's placed or mounted. At 90 degrees, the up-firing speakers will fire forward instead. That's the standard affair for any speaker, but Samsung's solution to this new problem was to implement a gyro sensor inside the QS700F.
The sensor helps the QS700F soundbar differentiate between 90-degree wall-mounting or standard placement and adjust the sound channels accordingly.
It's a clever solution to a new design, but it's yet unclear whether the QS700F soundbar has a preferred position. Samsung hasn't specified whether the soundbar sounds better when placed flat on a stand or at 90 degrees on a wall. We should find out more soon enough.
Samsung hasn't revealed much else about the new soundbar's speaker setup but confirmed that the QS700F is accompanied by a redesigned subwoofer. The same subwoofer is also used by the upgraded Q990F soundbar.
Speaking of the Q990F model, Samsung confirmed it has a similar 11.1.4-channel setup as the previous version.
As for other features, Samsung and Google's new Eclipsa Audio technology is included. It's a Dolby Atmos competitor, and it's also included in the latest TV models. Hit the link for more details.
Furthermore, AI takes center stage again through Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Q-Symphony Pro. The latter technology is used across the soundbar lineup unveiled at CES, including the lower-cost HW-B750F and HW-B650F models.
Pricing and release date details for all the new soundbar models are unknown for the time being, but more information should emerge in the coming weeks and months.
