Samsung has released a new software update for one of its flagship tablets from 2023, the Galaxy Tab S9. It brings the December 2024 security patch to the tablet, which fixes several security issues.
The South Korean tech giant has made the update available for the non-cellular (Wi-Fi-only) variant of the device, which has the model number SM-X710. We can confirm that the update is live in Korea. Samsung should make the new firmware available in other countries as well as to other variants of the tablet soon.
The software update changes the Galaxy Tab S9’s firmware version to X710XXU5BXL6, at least in Korea. Go to Settings » Software update » Download and install to get the latest update. We have made the update available in our database. You can download it from here and install it manually using Odin on a Windows PC.
The Galaxy Tab S9 is on the list of devices eligible to get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. The new software brings many new features, which you can check out in the video below.
Expect Samsung to roll it out after the next Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will launch the Galaxy S25 series. Follow our channel on Telegram or WhatsApp to get updates about Samsung.
