Fans petition Samsung to bring back S Pen Bluetooth features

The S Pen has long been a feature that has given Samsung’s flagship Android phones a unique identity. Following the death of the Galaxy Note brand, Samsung incorporated the stylus into the Galaxy S line of flagships and later added S Pen support to foldable devices as well.

The S Pen experience has remained virtually unchanged for a better part of the last decade, with Samsung adding no new features to the stylus, especially on the hardware side of things. And this year, Samsung made the controversial choice to reduce the S Pen feature set by stripping it off Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsung’s decision to ship the Galaxy S25 Ultra without a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen was data-driven: the company claims less than 1% of customers used the S Pen’s Bluetooth functionality (such as remote camera control and air gestures).

Samsung fans want the Bluetooth S Pen back

While some think the S Pen downgrade isn’t a big deal, those who are among that 1% of customers are not happy, and they have made their frustrations known by taking to social media and various online forums.

In fact, someone even took to Change.org and started a petition titled Demand Samsung Mobile to Reintroduce Bluetooth S Pen for Galaxy S26 Ultra. The petition implores Samsung to consider the feedback from S Pen fans who are voicing their disapproval and bring the S Pen’s Bluetooth functionality back in 2026 with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Will this petition have any effect? Online petitions are great for bringing awareness to issues, particularly societal and political ones. But they rarely result in real-world change. It doesn't help that most petitions don't go viral. The percentage of petitions that make headlines is similar to the percentage of customers that, according to Samsung, use the S Pen’s Bluetooth features.

But signing these petitions isn’t a complicated process and doesn't cost anything, so if you aren’t onboard with the removal of Bluetooth connectivity from the S Pen, feel free to visit Change.org and cast your vote.
