Earlier today, Samsung released the October 2022 security update to the unlocked Galaxy S22 units in the US. Now, the update is rolling out to the Galaxy S22's carrier-locked version, too.
The latest software update for carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra bumps up the firmware version to S90xUSQS2AVI1. The update brings the October 2022 security patch to fix dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities. It might also include general bug fixes and stability improvements.
If you have any of the Galaxy S22 series smartphones, and if it is a carrier-locked version, you can download the new software by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also choose to download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung is currently testing the third beta version of Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software on the Galaxy S22, and devices in the series could get the stable version of Android 13 sometime within the next couple of months. The update could also be released to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and the Galaxy A52.
