Two foldable smartphones from Samsung have started getting new security updates. The Galaxy Fold 5G is getting the September 2022 patch, while the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has now become the first foldable Samsung phone to get the October 2022 security update.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Fold 5G comes with firmware version F907BXXU6HVI5 in the UK. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is getting the new update with firmware version F916BXXS2HVI8. The Galaxy Z Fold 2's update is now available in Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Romania, Southeast Europe, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic region.
The October 2022 security update, which is currently rolling out to high-end Samsung phones, fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities. The September 2022 patch fixes over two dozen security vulnerabilities in the Galaxy Fold 5G. The new updates to the Galaxy Fold 5G and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 might also bring device stability improvements.
If you have a Galaxy Fold 5G in the UK or the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in any of the countries mentioned above, you can now download and install the update by navigating to Settings » Sofware update and tapping Download and install. You can also choose to flash the update manually after downloading the newest firmware file from our firmware database.
