The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A13 5G in the US received its most-recent software update in August, which brought with it July 2022 security patch. Since then, the phone has been running on the same firmware, and Samsung hadn’t bothered itself offering August or September security patches for the smartphone. Well, after skipping two security updates, the brand is now pushing the October 2022 security patch to it.
The latest software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A13 5G in the US comes bearing firmware version A136USQS3BVI1. The update is being rolled out to the devices on T-Mobile, Xfinity Mobile, and Comcast networks. The new firmware brings October 2022 security patch with it, but that’s about it.
The Galaxy A13 5G made its debut in December 2021 with the Android 11 OS. Samsung rolled out the Android 12 update for the smartphone in June, which also brought the May 2022 security patch. The carrier-unlocked versions of the smartphone in the US are still running on the July 2022 security patch, whereas the Canadian version of the device is getting the October 2022 security patch as we speak.
If your phone hasn’t notified you about the new update, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software and tapping Download & install. You can also download the new firmware from our database and flash it manually, but we recommend using this method only if you are well-versed with flashing firmware using Samsung's Odin tool.
