Samsung has taken a much faster approach this year when it comes to beta testing the newest version of Android and One UI for its smartphones. The Galaxy S22 series got the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 beta update more than two months ago, and Samsung has also released the beta for multiple other devices — including its latest foldables — since then.
Earlier today (October 18), the Galaxy S22 series received the fifth One UI 5.0 beta update. As usual, we sprang into action immediately, got the cameras rolling, and now have a video that you can check out to see what's new and what's different compared to the previous beta.
Spoiler alert: the new beta is a pretty boring one. It brings back a couple of features that went missing on previous builds, like Secure Wi-Fi, but the rest is just bug fixes; Samsung has also moved the location of a few existing features in device settings. But hey, boring is good, because this could be the final beta update before Samsung flips the switch and starts the public rollout of Android 13 and One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy S22 lineup.
Of course, there's no way to be certain, but considering Samsung plans to release the stable update before the end of October, there's a high chance that the company is just about done wrapping things up. We'll be sure to let you know either way; for now, don't forget to check out the video below for our breakdown of the latest Galaxy S22 One UI 5.0 beta.
