After releasing October 2022 security patch to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US, Samsung is now rolling out the latest security update to the carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the country. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 had already received the October 2022 security update but only in Israel. Now, it is rolling out in the US as well. As for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, its US variant is the first in line to get the October 2022 security patch.
The new update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 bumps up the firmware version to F936USQS1AVII, whereas that for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with the firmware version F721USQS1AVII. The update brings with it the October 2022 security patch, which fixes more than 47 vulnerabilities related to the privacy and security of the two devices device.
The update is currently rolling out to the unlocked variants of the two phones that are on T-Mobile, Comcast, and Xfinity Mobile networks. You can download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware from our firmware database and flash it manually.
While the stable version of the OS for the two smartphones is getting the October 2022 security patch, Samsung has announced the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in South Korea.
