We've known for some time that the Galaxy A54 is deep in development, and as we slowly approach the end of the year, more puzzle pieces are falling into place. The latest bit of information concerning the Galaxy A54 has to do with its battery, the latter of which may have a slightly higher capacity than the unit powering the Galaxy A53.
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy A54 will carry model number SM-A546B. This bit of information regarding the model number isn't groundbreaking, but it can help determine some of the phone's components, such as its battery. And according to new information unearthed by GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A54 battery is identified by model number EB-BA546ABY.
Galaxy A54 seemingly has a marginally-bigger battery than the 2022 model
Because of this discrepancy, Samsung may give the Galaxy A54 battery a “typical” capacity of 5,100mAh, up 100mAh from the Galaxy A53's 5,000mAh unit. But it all depends on how far the company may want to push its marketed “typical” capacity, so there's a possibility that the Galaxy A54 will be advertised as having a 5,000mAh unit.
Time will tell, but the takeaway is that the Galaxy A54 doesn't use the same battery as its predecessor. It has a different model number and a slightly higher rated capacity, which may or may not come into play in real-life usage scenarios.
The Galaxy A53 was announced in March 2022, and we're guessing that the Galaxy A54 may be introduced in March next year. There's no word on availability yet, but there's plenty of time left for more details to emerge through unofficial channels. We'll keep you up to speed as we learn more.
