Google has revealed the list of new changes that will be a part of the Play System update for November 2022 for Android devices. As per the changelog, the latest update will include general improvements to the Google Play Store's security and enhancements for parental controls and Wallet.
Major Android firmware updates are pushed annually for Android devices that bring improved features and a bunch of other tweaks for the overall system software. However, Google Play System updates bring a suite of apps and services and mainly address the security issues for the Play Store and related system apps.
The update is yet to roll out and will arrive as a server-side update
The new November 2022 Play System update will bring an account management feature to “allow supervised users that do not have time limit features enabled to make changes to the device clock.” Previously, any supervised users or child accounts could not change the device's clock. Now, with the latest updates, the clock-changing restrictions are only active for those users who have designated time limits already in place on their devices.
It also brings optimizations for faster downloads, improvements to the Play Protect security, bug fixes, and more. For Wallet, as per 9To5Google, the new November update brings the ability to allow merchants to create a GPay button to customize it. Also, it brings API updates to allow deep links to additional Google Wallet screens.
In order to check if you are running the latest version of the Play System update, you can launch the Play Store, click on your profile picture, and select Settings » About » Update Play Store. If there is a new update available, then it will start downloading. However, the Play System updates are server-side updates and do not require manual input.
