Those units were carrier-unlocked versions of the foldable phones. Now, the company has released the stable Android 13 update to carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US.
The Android 13 update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with firmware version F721USQU1BVK3 in the US. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting the stable Android 13 update in the US with firmware version F936USQU1BVK3. The latest software updates for both phones also bring the November 2022 security patch. Both phones are currently getting the new update on T-Mobile's network, and we expect other carriers to release the update within the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4 user in the US with a carrier-locked version, you can now download the Android 13 update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 a few months ago with Android 12-based (Android 12L for Z Flip 4) One UI 4.1.1 onboard. The company promised to offer four major Android OS updates to both foldable devices. It has now released the first major update. The devices will get three more Android OS updates (up to Android 16) in the future.
