The Galaxy A02s is getting a new firmware update in the USA, and although it's coming a bit late, it's a big one. The Galaxy A02s is receiving Android 12 in the USA, four months late. The roll-out in other markets began in July, and the USA is only now catching up with the rest of the world.
While we're celebrating the release of Android 13 for many other Galaxy phones and tablets, the US-bound Galaxy A02s is only now getting Android 12. It's better than nothing, but it does highlight that some of Samsung's low-end phones don't get nearly as much attention as its mid-range and flagship devices. Especially in the USA.
The Android 12 update for the Galaxy A02s should include One UI version 4.1. The package has firmware number A025VSQU2CVJ1 and comes with the September 2022 security patch, which Samsung detailed a couple of months ago. Of course, the best part is One UI 4.1, especially since the Galaxy A02s isn't eligible for a third major OS upgrade. Android 12 is the last big update for the Galaxy A02s, and the device won't get Android 13 and One UI 5.0.
Galaxy A02s users in the USA who want to be done with Android 11 should now be able to download Android 12 and One UI 4.1 via the Settings app on their phones once they access “Software update” and tap “Download and install.” We also offer the official firmware files on our website for Galaxy A02s users who prefer manual updates.
