The Tizen Developers Conference has started today in San Francisco and according to Tizen Indonesia, Samsung and Intel are ready to launch Tizen 2.1 which has been developed under the codename Nectarine. Tizen Indonesia is also reporting that the platform is almost ready for public release and that a Samsung Electronics official has confirmed today to Korean media that they are preparing to launch the first Tizen phone in the third quarter of this year in Europe and in Japan (which will be in July).
The expectation is that Tizen 2.1 (Nectarine) will be unveiled tomorrow at a keynote by Imad Sousou (GM of Intel Open Source Technology Center, and Intel Co-Chair on the Tizen Technical Steering Group) and Jong-Deok Choi (Executive VP Samsung, and Samsung Co-Chair on the Tizen Technical Steering Group).
Tizen Indonesia is also reporting that Tizen will have a unique and fresh looking user interface, which will have several new features.
As we already know Samsung will launch the first Tizen phone with the best available hardware to gain interest of consumers, developers and partners.
