What good a water resistant phone is if it's not covered under warranty for liquid damage? Such is the case of Galaxy S4 Active where Samsung and AT&T won't acknowledge the warranty if a user damages the device due to water. Phone Arena now reports and though it's unofficial at the moment, Samsung and AT&T will give a free exchange to consumers who have damaged their Galaxy S4 Active due to water. As the site notes, there are few conditions to the exchange.
First and foremost, the exchange is good for one time swap and if you damage the device underwater again, you'll have to pay the regular charges to get it repaired. Secondly, the exchange is applicable only for liquid damage and not physical damage. Thirdly, the devices that come under the exchange program must have been purchased directly from AT&T and not from other channels.
Quite some conditions to fulfill but if this is true, it certainly is good news for consumers who may have accidentally damaged their device underwater.
