When the Galaxy Note II was launched last year, it started a trend where every Samsung flagship device launches with the latest version of Android (as do a few not-so-flagship devices). That trend was expected to continue with the Galaxy Note III, and a DLNA certification for Samsung's next phablet has confirmed that it will indeed launch with Android 4.3 out of the box.
Of course, while launching with the latest version of Android is always a good thing, Note II owners know quite well how it didn't really work out with the second-generation Note, as they're still waiting for the first major update, which has apparently been postponed in favour of directly jumping to Android 4.3. But still, just because it happened once doesn't mean it will happen again, so we'll just look at the bright side here.
Other specs of the Galaxy Note III are expected to include a 1080p Super AMOLED screen anywhere between 5.7 to 6-inches in size, an octa-core Exynos 5420 or quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor depending on market, 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, and LTE-A connectivity. The device will be formally announced on September 4th at Samsung’s UNPACKED event.
