Taiwan-based Digitimes claims that for the month of September, Samsung cut its notebook component orders by almost half of its original forecast. While Samsung didn't officially comment, Digitimes states that according to their upstream supply chain sources, Samsung will also reduce its shipment projection to 13 million units compared to 13.8 million units in 2012.
Samsung was bullish on the notebook shipments growth and expected around 15-20% growth for this year but is apparently facing issues with demand like other notebook makers.
According to the site, Samsung was the seventh-largest notebook brand in 2012 overall and the third-largest maker in Brazil.
