T-Mobile has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Light, an entry-level Android 4.2.2 smartphone that popular leaker evleaks revealed via Twitter as the “Garda” a few days back. The specs of the device match the Galaxy S3 mini's for the most part, but the 1.4GHz quad-core processor is likely a Snapdragon 200/400 chip to enable LTE support, and as mentioned above, you get Android 4.2.2 out of the box.
Other specs include a 4-inch WVGA (480×800) display, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, 8GB of built-in storage and a microSD slot, and a 1,800mAh battery. T-Mobile hasn't revealed a launch date or pricing, but in the case of the latter, we wouldn't be surprised if T-Mobile gives it away for as low as $0.99 on a two-year contract, to compete with AT&T's recently launched Galaxy S3 mini.
