Some Galaxy Note 3 units experiencing boot loops

Of all the tips we receive in our email, Note 3 issues have been a topic we've seen plenty of times ever since the device was launched in late September. The region lock created a storm of negativity and criticism, and now another issue we've been made privy to is that of some users experiencing boot loops on their shiny new Galaxy Note 3.

An ongoing thread discussing the issue at XDA reveals that there's no particular reason causing the boot loop, which usually happens after the device restarts on its own, requiring a battery pull to fix it. For some users, the boot loop occurs after updating to a newer software version on a new Note 3 and then installing their apps from the Play Store. For others, it happens when the device is intentionally rebooted while the SIM and microSD cards are in the device, though keeping the device in flight mode while rebooting makes it reboot properly.

It seems to be a major issue that doesn't seem to have a proper resolution (even a data wipe doesn't help), though I've personally not run across it on my Exynos model (it has automatically rebooted twice in the three weeks I've had it, but there were no boot loops). It's likely fixable via a software update, and we'll keep our fingers crossed that Samsung acknowledges the issue soon and does what's necessary even sooner.

Have any of you experienced this rather troublesome boot loop issue on your Galaxy Note 3?
