In a few months, if you start seeing a lot of Samsung devices in basketball games, don't be surprised: according to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung has entered a $100 million deal with the National Basketball Association, to “bring the South Korean company's technology courtside” at NBA games. As part of the deal, Samsung will provide the courtside monitors that referees use to review close calls, and will get customized video content for its smartphones, tablets and televisions.
There's no official word on the NBA deal just yet, but judging by how Samsung has been doubling down on marketing and advertising its devices, it won't be the least bit surprising if the deal becomes official in a few days, right before the next NBA season kicks off.
