The time has come for those in Canada to start reaping the benefits of Android 4.3 on their Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini, as the update has begun rolling out to the two devices on various carriers (Bell, Rogers, Fido, TELUS, etc.) in the country, right on schedule. Android 4.3 brings features such as Galaxy Gear support, KNOX functionality, new TouchWiz features, improved camera firmware and features, and more, along with all the features of Android 4.3.

The update is around 790MB for the Galaxy S4 and should be sized a tad less for the Galaxy S4 mini. Here's the official changelog as mentioned in the update notification:

  • – OS upgrade (Android 4.3)
  • – Added new feature (KNOX for consumer, etc)
  • – Compatibility with Galaxy Gear
  • – Improved performance (Graphics, Multimedia, Bluetooth, etc)
  • – Improved the user interface and stability
  • – User interface adjustment (Icon change, etc)
  • – Security Enhancements

As always, the rollout process will be gradual, so you might or might not receive the update immediately and could have to wait a few days before it reaches your device. Don't forget to manually check in the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu, and let us know whether you've received the update yet.
