Samsung is reportedly planning to focus on the smartphone accessories and peripheral market in 2014, to make up for its lowered smartphone sales expectations, according to the Korean media. Smartphone demand has slowed down, while demand for accessories such as a batteries and covers continues to increase, which is reportedly the reason for Samsung focusing on said market as it looks to maintain profitability.
The peripherals (or wearable) market will also form part of that focus, and Samsung is said to be working on making the Galaxy Gear 2 a much bigger success than the Galaxy Gear when it launches alongside the Galaxy S5. Other peripherals will be on Samsung's radar as well, which means we might also see devices like the Gear Glass, Samsung's answer to Google Glass, make an appearance before the end of 2014.
