Sprint has announced it will soon be launching an upgraded Galaxy S4 model that will support its new Spark LTE network, which offers higher reliability and faster speeds by combining three different bands of 4G LTE spectrum. The upgraded Galaxy S4 will join the Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Mega 6.3; the specs of the handset will remain the same as before, including a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 13-megapixel camera, and 2,600 mAh battery, but its modem will now support the Spark LTE network.
The Spark-compatible Galaxy S4 will cost $199.99 on a two-year contract (same as the standard Galaxy S4), or $25 on Sprint's One Up upgrade plan. The launch is expected to happen within the “next few weeks,” which means you can expect to be able to buy the device somewhere around Christmas.
