According to a report by Reuters, the U.S. Justice Department has ended its ongoing investigation against Samsung. The department was investigating the Korean giant on its use of essential patents against its competitors, in this case, Apple but the department found the investigation was unnecessary as the decision to ban few Apple products was overturned last year after a veto by the Obama administration.
The department has although confirmed to closely monitor “related patent litigation.”
Samsung's never ending legal battle with Apple continues globally but more recently, Samsung has tried to enter in cross licensing patent agreements with companies like Google, Ericsson and Cisco to avoid any future patent litigations and concentrate on innovation.
