Report: Galaxy Note 4 to be water-resistant like the Galaxy S5

Sony has been making each of its flagship phones water-resistant since it launched the Xperia Z in early 2013, and we were quite glad to see Samsung doing the same with the Galaxy S5 instead of making a separate rugged variant (as was the case with the Galaxy S4 Active.) If a report from the Korean media is to be believed, the Galaxy Note 4 will also be water-resistant, which affirms previous reports that all upcoming Samsung flagships will be water- and dust-resistant. According to the report, Samsung will use the same water-resistance method (Liquid Silicon Moulding) in the upcoming phablet, meaning it should have an IP67 rating as well and be able to withstand being submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes

This is certainly good news, but not entirely unexpected given each new device in the Galaxy Note series builds upon features introduced in the latest Galaxy S flagship. Here's hoping the Galaxy Note 4's size won't increase considerably because of being water-resistant, or it might just turn off those who love the Galaxy Note series for offering a big screen in a compact body.
