Earlier this week, we announced that Samsung launched the Gear 2 and Gear Fit in Taiwan. At the same event, the South Korean manufacturer also detailed availability and pricing of the Galaxy S5. The 16 GB Galaxy S5 in Taiwan will set users back TW$22,900 (around $748), while the 32 GB version will cost TW$23,900 (around $781). The prices do seem to be in line with what we've seen in other territories, and are lesser than the Galaxy S4's launch price. The Galaxy S5 is available on pre-order from most major carriers in the country and will be available on April 11. Users who pre-order the device will receive free gifts through the Galaxy S5 Gifts promotion.
The 16 GB Galaxy S5 will be available in black, white and blue, while the 32 GB version will be available in black, white and gold. The Galaxy S5 sold in Taiwan features the Snapdragon 801 CPU, anad as such it will be compatible with 4G networks in the country. Users on Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, FarEasTone, Vibo Telecom and Asia Pacific Telecom will be able to access their carrier’s 4G network on the Galaxy S5.
