Samsung is collaborating with Madrid-based Iberia airlines in bringing boarding passes to the Gear 2 smartwatch. The latest version of Iberia’s Android client will allow users to store their boarding passes on a Gear 2 smartwatch by linking it with a connected smartphone. Initially, the utility will be available on the Galaxy S5 and the Gear 2, but it is likely that the feature will be extended to other Galaxy smartphones and the Gear 2 Neo. The boarding pass will automatically be downloaded onto a user’s smartwatch as soon as it is synchronized with a smartphone.
Samsung has mentioned that it will actively work on adding more functionality to the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches, so it is great to see the manufacturer delivering on its promise. Iberia’s new mobile client for Android is set to launch in the coming weeks.
