A recent leak suggested a May release for the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Verizon's variant of the Galaxy S4, but fortunately for owners of the device, the carrier has decided to speed things up and has started rolling out the update today. We saw the update hit the international Galaxy Note II earlier today as well, and it should be making its way to devices slowly over the course of the next few days. As for features and changes, expect the usual KitKat features, like faster performance, wireless printing support, white status bar icons, and more.
The US Cellular model of the Galaxy S4 is also expected to get KitKat from today, though there's no word on when rollout will commence. For now, if you have the Verizon Galaxy S4, don't forget to keep an eye out for that update notification, and to check manually in the Settings » General » About phone » Software update menu if you're feeling impatient.
