A set of leaked specs alluded to the fact that the Galaxy S5 mini will also be certified IP67, which will allow it to be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.  Samsung’s New Zealand site confirmed that claim by stating in the warranty information section that the Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S4 Active all feature the same amount of water resistance. The section highlights the scenarios in which the warranty for these handsets is excluded, and goes on to say that if either of the three handsets are submerged in water for more than 30 minutes, the warranty will be void.

Other than the ability to withstand dust and water, the Galaxy S5 mini features mid-range hardware in the form of a quad-core Snapdragon 400, 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 8 MP camera at the back and a 2 MP camera at the front of the device, 2100 mAh battery and Android 4.4. KitKat out of the box. It is unclear as to when Samsung will unveil the device, but it should be sometime over the summer.
