Although Sprint announced in the month of March that its version of the Galaxy SIII would make the switch to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, there wasn’t any mention as to when it might occur. Users eagerly awaiting the update might not have to wait too long, as Samsung released the KitKat kernel source code for Sprint’s Galaxy SIII (SPH-L710). The build number is L710VPUDND8, and in addition to KitKat, this update will feature the Linux 3.4 kernel. There is usually a delay of a week between the release of the kernel source code from the time the carrier starts rolling out the OTA, so it is possible that Sprint Galaxy SIII users will be able to make the switch to Android 4.4.2 KitKat sometime next week. However, it is also likely that this particular build might take more time before it is available to users as we haven't seen any test builds of the firmware yet.

Head over to the source link below to download the kernel source files.
