SamMobile Recap: KitKat update schedule, Galaxy S5 Dx and Gear 2 Solo rumored, and app updates

There’s a lot of stuff that happens in the tech industry, something that is especially true when it comes to giants like Samsung. If you missed out on some (or all) of what happened in the last 24 hours, well, here’s a recap of all the big things that went down.

Headlining the day was a leaked list that we obtained with details on when some of Samsung's phones will be getting updated to KitKat, which also revealed that the Galaxy S III would not be on the list. The Gear 2 Solo, Samsung's cellular-enabled smartwatch, came a step closer to launch, the Galaxy S5 mini decided to show up as the Galaxy S5 Dx in a lot more colors than the Galaxy S5, and we also learned a thing or two about the Galaxy S5's camera and the Gear Fit's design. Rounding up the day were app updates for Samsung's WatchON and Kids Mode features, which were nothing major but still welcome.

Here’s the full rundown:

Of course, a lot of devices got firmware updates as well, so here’s a list of all the updates that rolled to Samsung devices yesterday (as always, you can find all the firmware you need in our firmware section):
