After the official release of Samsung Z, which is their first Tizen based smartphone, Samsung has now confirmed that they will be releasing the SDK for Tizen based smart TV products. The Beta version of SDK will give developers a chance to play around with some new smart interaction features. Samsung states that the users can control and interact Tizen powered TVs through hand gestures and voice commands. A multi-screen feature will allow users to link their existing mobile phones and wearable devices with TVs.
Samsung is working on significantly improving development experience with new features such as an ability to debug the code remotely. Earlier developers had to connect their PCs to the TV software directly. Developers Samsung’s Tizen-based TV SDK Beta will be available for download at Samsung Developers Forum website starting early July 2014. Samsung expects to launch Tizen-based TVs in 2015. They have already released Tizen based smart watches and fitness trackers.
